From 26 to 28 August 2025, HIWA trained 26 community hygiene promoters—13 women and 13 men—from eight project locations at Darusalaam Hotel in Beledweyne. The training was supported by the Somalia Humanitarian Fund through OCHA.
Participants practised safe water handling and storage, household water treatment, handwashing with soap, latrine use and maintenance, menstrual hygiene and community mobilisation.
Group exercises, practical demonstrations and role play prepared the promoters to share hygiene messages with households and communities.
